The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005, seeks to ensure that Irish businesses update their current practices governing safety procedure and health in the workplace.

This piece of legislation reflects the importance that the government place on Health and Safety in the workplace. It is regarded as the most stringent piece of legislation ever introduced in the area of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work.

The legislation is wide ranging and every retail business is required to comply with the requirements of the Act. The Safety and Health at Work module does not offer an exhaustive guide to Health and Safety in the workplace, nor does it cover every aspect of the current legislation.

The module resource material has been developed to assist candidates to achieve Level 5 Safety and Health at Work.
