Sean Carlin
Network Manager, Retail Ireland Skillnet

Manager of Retail Ireland Skillnet, Sean has more than eighteen years’ experience working in Retail management before joining Ibec in 1999. As the founder of Retail Ireland Skillnet in 2000, Sean has been an advocate for the benefits of work-based training and education for the retail sector. Through Sean’s vision he has developed industry relevant training for the retail sector ranging from Level 5 to Level 9 onto the National Framework of Qualifications. Over the years, Retail Ireland Skillnet has assisted more than 20,000 retail employees with training and education programmes and more than 1,000 Irish retail firms. Sean is the Chair of the Retail Working and Skills Group, and regularly represents Irish employers at EU education summits promoting the positive impacts work-based learning and education.

Cathy assumed her role as chair of Retail Ireland Skillnet's Steering Committee in February 2020. With extensive knowledge in HRM, her specific expertise is in FMCG/Retail. As HR Manager in Retail Services at BWG Foods, her main focus is in the development of careers and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge within the Retail sector.
