Manager of Retail Ireland Skillnet, Sean has more than eighteen years’ experience working in Retail management before joining Ibec in 1999. As the founder of Retail Ireland Skillnet in 2000, Sean has been an advocate for the benefits of work-based training and education for the retail sector. Through Sean’s vision he has developed industry relevant training for the retail sector ranging from Level 5 to Level 9 onto the National Framework of Qualifications. Over the years, Retail Ireland Skillnet has assisted more than 20,000 retail employees with training and education programmes and more than 1,000 Irish retail firms. Sean is the Chair of the Retail Working and Skills Group, and regularly represents Irish employers at EU education summits promoting the positive impacts work-based learning and education.
David joined Woodie’s in 2015. As Head of Engagement, David is responsible for Internal Communications, Colleague Engagement and Learning & Development for Woodie’s 1400 staff nationwide. Woodie’s has officially been placed as a “Great Place to Work” for the past two years and in 2018 received IITD awards for “Overall Excellence in L&D” and “Best Large Organisation for L&D”. Prior to joining Woodie’s David background was in Retail Operations & Channel Management roles in the Telecoms sector.”
